As seen from these recent aerial photographs, Blackstone’s new World Headquarters will be a 273,000 square foot facility with 150,000 square feet dedicated to offices and 123,000 to warehousing and shipping. The actual structure is a series of panels which are raised by cranes to form an interlocking wall. Once raised, the panel is secured and reinforced prior to the next panel being raised.
Blackstone’s new home is located within its 56-mile fiber sonnet ring and is built to withstand a Category 5 hurricane with winds up to 150 miles per hour. The unlimited generator capacity and cellular antennas will provide uninterrupted communications with the outside world during the event of a natural disaster. It will include a day care facility, health club and 24-hour cafeteria.
