BLACKSTONE MERCHANT SERVICES RECEIVES PCI COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATION
Miami-October 16, 2008--Blackstone Merchant Services has successfully completed their certification under the payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Beginning in 2004, five major credit card companies formed the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC); these credit card companies include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB International. After combing their individual policies the council created a set of industry-wide requirements protecting sensitive cardholder information. Merchant Services providers such as Blackstone undergo annual security standards designed to aid organizations in protecting customer account data.
In order to satisfy the security assessment imposed by the PCI Security Standards Council, Blackstone Merchant Services used an independent security audit company. Security Metrics exposed Blackstone Merchant Services to rigorous screenings and assessments resulting in BMS’ successful compliance.
